Easton Sod Farms, Inc. was founded more than 45 years ago in 1973. The company was first started by John Easton’s father, Junior Easton. Easton Sod Farms, Inc.’s first commercial job was at the Tulsa International Airport and the sod for the project was first harvested out of a cow pasture.

Junior was a previous Alfalfa farmer, and slowly made the transition to sod farming. The Tulsa sod farm started harvesting several varieties of grass such as Zoysia grass, Buffalo grass, Bermuda grass, and Patriot grass. Easton Sod Farms, Inc. works hand in hand with the Oklahoma State Turfgrass program and the turf scientists at Oklahoma State University have created several certified turfgrasses that Easton Sod Farms, Inc. harvests today.
